Roper Mountain Holiday Lights is the only non-profit Holiday Light show in the Greenville!
Volunteers begin setting the lights up in early September each year to get ready to open by Thanksgiving night.
Nearly 4,000 volunteer man-hours go into setting, running and dismantling Roper Mountain Holiday Lights.
A portion of the 4,080 square foot warehouse where the lights are stored during the off-season is transformed into Santa's Workshop.
There are 29 electrical meters throughout the site that are used to operate the lights.
It takes one person an hour to turn the lights on each night all across Roper Mountain.
The electricity bill for the 2009 Holiday Lights was $8,000!
Since 1992 over $1,558,000 has been given back to local charities and non-profit organizations.
The total show includes nearly 1-million lights. This is equivalent to the number of lights on 3,200 standard 6-foot tall Christmas Trees.
Our tallest display is the 24 foot tall Trampoline Ginger Bread Man.
Our longest display is Candy Cane Lane!
Santa sits in a fully restored sleigh that is over 100 years old.
The Buck Mickel Star has over 2,500 lights and stands 97.5 feet tall.
Nearly 600 people volunteer time to help with the project every year.
